PREP & AFTERCARE

Permanent Eyeliner Precare

Preparing for Permanent Eyeliner involves a few essential steps to ensure the best results and minimize any potential discomfort. First and foremost, it's crucial to avoid any blood-thinning medications or supplements, such as aspirin, ibuprofen, or fish oil, for at least a few days prior to your appointment unless prescribed by a doctor.  These substances can increase bleeding during the procedure and affect pigment retention.  Additionally, you need to refrain from drinking alcohol the day before your eyeliner procedure, as it also contributes to increased bleeding and discomfort.  You will be turned away if you have consumed any alcohol on the day of your treatment.


Another important aspect of pre-care is avoiding products such as Latese or any sort of eyelash growth serum for at least two weeks prior to treatment.  You cannot have false lashes on when getting permanent eyeliner.  I suggest removing them at least one week prior to your procedure.


Permanent Eyeliner Aftercare

After undergoing a permanent eyeliner procedure, proper aftercare is crucial for optimal healing and long-lasting results. Here is the recommended aftercare routine:


1. Damp Cloth: Gently dab the treated area with a clean, damp cloth every 30 minutes for the first 3 hours after the procedure. This helps remove any excess lymph or blood and keeps the area clean.


2. Gentle Cleansing: Starting from the day after the procedure, wash your eyelids morning and night using a gentle cleanser such as Cetaphil or CeraVe. Apply a small amount of cleanser on your fingertips and gently cleanse the area, being careful not to scrub or rub vigorously.


3. Cream Application: After washing your eyelids, apply a tiny amount of the recommended cream to the treated area. Use approximately half the size of a grain of rice. Gently massage the cream into the skin, ensuring it is evenly distributed.


4. Repeat for 7-10 Days: Follow this gentle cleansing, and cream application routine for 7-10 days. Consistency is key during this healing period to ensure the best results.


5. Do not pull off any scabs from the area, let it flake off naturally. Pulling off will pull pigment out from the skin.


6. Avoid makeup, lotions, and sun exposure: Refrain from using makeup, lotions, or any other products on your eyelids or lashes for at least 7 days. This includes avoiding direct sun exposure, saunas, steam rooms, and excessive sweating, as these factors can interfere with the healing process and affect color retention.


Following these guidelines diligently will promote proper healing, minimize the risk of infection, and help your eyeliner look its best for an extended period.

  • What is lash enhancement tattoo?

    Lash enhancement is a realistic tattoo that is placed in between the lashes to give a subtle darkening of your lashes.  It does not sit on the eyelid making it look very soft and realistic.

    It is the perfect procedure to make your eyes pop and looks great on everyone.


  • What is classic eyeliner tattoo?

    The classic eyeliner tattoo is a bit thicker than the lash enhancement, implanting pigment in the lashes as well as on the eyelid giving you a more noticeable eyeliner look.  We can go as thick or thin as you would like.

  • What is winged eyeliner tattoo?

    Winged eyeliner extends past the lash line outward to create a winged look. This is a great look to 

    enhance your eye shape.


  • Is eyeliner tattoo painful?

    We will numb your lids for 20 minutes prior to starting the procedure and apply a numbing gel throughout the rest of your procedure.  It is not painful but will feel a bit tickly when we are on your lashes.

  • Can I wear eyelash extensions to my eyeliner tattoo appointment?

    You cannot wear lash extensions to your apt and we recommend not reapplying them until two weeks after your touch-up appointment.


  • How long before I can wear eye makeup after the procedure?

    You will need to wait 7-10 days to wear any mascara or makeup on your eyelids.

  • Will my eyelids be swollen after the procedure?

    Every person is different. If you tend to be a person that gets swollen eyes after crying you may get a little swollen. The day after the procedure your eyes may feel a little heavy or the same feeling as a sunburn. I recommend not wearing your contacts for a few days to allow healing and comfort.

  • How long does eyeliner tattoo last?

    Any eyeliner procedure will generally last 2-3 years.  

  • Do you tattoo bottom eyeliner?

    I usually stay away from tattooing bottom eyeliner.  I think that it can look a little harsh when tattooed therefore I don’t like the way it looks over time.

    There are some exceptions to the rule so please feel free to ask.  I will tattoo someone’s bottom liner if they have already had it done in the past.
