PREP & AFTERCARE

BEAUTY MARKS

Beauty Mark Precare

Two months before your appointment, steer clear of antibiotics.

In the 2-4 weeks leading up to your procedure, skip retinol products, acne treatments, and salicylic acid. Refrain from deep exfoliation like chemical peels for two weeks, and avoid filler or injections for three weeks.

One week before, say no to sauna sessions, tanning, fish oil, and vitamin E. Discontinue blood thinners unless prescribed by a doctor.

Within 24 hours, skip alcohol.

On the day of your appointment avoid caffeine, and ensure no acne spots, cuts, or open wounds are on the area being treated. Arrive with a makeup-free face.

Beauty Mark Aftercare

During the initial 24 hours (day 1), allow the skin to rest without washing the treated area.

From days 2 to10, incorporate daily washing to eliminate bacteria, product buildup, oils, and dead skin – this won’t remove the pigment.

Between days 1 and 7 gently cleanse your face each morning and night using water and an antibacterial soap like Cetaphil or Cervae. Employ a light touch and fingertips, rubbing the area for 10 seconds in a smooth motion. Rinse thoroughly, ensuring all soap is washed away, and pat dry with a clean towel. Steer clear of cleansing products containing acids or exfoliants.

Between Days 1 and 7, use a modest amount of aftercare ointment after cleansing skin, and spreading it over the treated area. Avoid excessive application, as it may hinder skin healing.

The ointment should be barely noticeable, and refrain from applying it to wet or damp tattoos (freckles). Keep showers brief (5-10 minutes) to prevent excessive steam. When washing your body, keep your face or treated area out of the water. At the end of your shower, wash your hair, minimizing rinsing and avoiding hot water on the treated area. Try to prevent soap or water from running over your freshly treated spots, except during the initial cleanse.

Things To Avoid

Avoid wearing makeup on your face for 10 days. Do not scratch or pick at the treated area.

Don’t use acid or exfoliants on the treated area. Only use the provided healing cream. Avoid swimming, hot tubs, or saunas for 10 days. Avoid tanning or UV exposure. Avoid acne products or hydroxy acid. Avoid facials for 30 days.

BROWS

Brow Aftercare

After undergoing a Microblading or Powder Brow procedure, proper aftercare is crucial for optimal healing and long-lasting results.  Here is the recommended aftercare routine:

1. Damp Cloth:  Gently dab the treated area with a clean, damp cloth every 30 minutes for the first 3 hours after the procedure.  This helps remove any excess lymph or blood and keeps the area clean.

2. Gentle Cleansing:  Starting from the day after the procedure, wash your eyebrows morning and night using a gentle cleanser such as Cetaphil or CeraVe.  Apply a small amount of cleanser on your fingertips and gently cleanse the area, being careful not to scrub or rub vigorously.

3. Cream Application:  After washing your eyebrows, apply a tiny amount of the recommended cream to the treated area.  Use approximately half the size of a grain of rice. Gently massage the cream into the skin, ensuring it is evenly distributed.

3. Repeat for 7-10 Days:  Follow this gentle cleansing, and cream application routine for 7-10 days.  Consistency is key during this healing period to ensure the best results.

4. Do not pull off any scabs from the brow area, let it flake off naturally.  Pulling off will pull pigment out from the skin.

5. Avoid Makeup Lotions, and Sun Exposure:  Refrain from using makeup, lotions, or any other products on your eyebrows for at least 7 days.  This includes avoiding direct sun exposure, saunas, steam rooms, and excessive sweating, as these factors can interfere with the healing process and affect color retention.

Following these guidelines diligently will promote proper healing, minimize the risk of infection, and help your eyebrows look their best for an extended period.

Brow Precare

Preparing for your brow procedure involves a few essential steps to ensure the best results and minimize any potential discomfort.  First and foremost, it’s crucial to avoid any blood-thinning medications or supplements, such as aspirin, ibuprofen, or fish oil for a least a few days prior to your appointment UNLESS prescribed by a doctor.  These substances can increase bleeding during the procedure and affect pigment retention.  Additionally, please refrain from alcohol the night prior to and the day of your brow procedure.  You will be turned away if you have consumed any alcohol the day of your procedure as it will cause bleeding.

Another important aspect of pre-care is avoiding any treatments that may irritate or sensitize the brow area. This includes avoiding waxing, tweezing, or tinting your eyebrows at least one week prior to the brow appointment.  By allowing your natural brows to grow to their fullness, I will better be able to see what we are working with. Avoid prolonged sun exposure and tanning beds, as sunburn or excessive UV exposure can make the skin more sensitive.  Adhering to these pre-care instructions will help create an optimal canvas for Microblading or Power Brow procedures and contribute to a successful and comfortable experience.

EYELINER

Permanent Eyeliner Precare

Preparing for Permanent Eyeliner involves a few essential steps to ensure the best results and minimize any potential discomfort. First and foremost, it's crucial to avoid any blood-thinning medications or supplements, such as aspirin, ibuprofen, or fish oil, for at least a few days prior to your appointment unless prescribed by a doctor.  These substances can increase bleeding during the procedure and affect pigment retention.  Additionally, you need to refrain from drinking alcohol the day before your eyeliner procedure, as it also contributes to increased bleeding and discomfort.  You will be turned away if you have consumed any alcohol on the day of your treatment.

Another important aspect of pre-care is avoiding products such as Latese or any sort of eyelash growth serum for at least two weeks prior to treatment.  You cannot have false lashes on when getting permanent eyeliner.  I suggest removing them at least one week prior to your procedure.

Permanent Eyeliner Aftercare

After undergoing a permanent eyeliner procedure, proper aftercare is crucial for optimal healing and long-lasting results. Here is the recommended aftercare routine:

1. Damp Cloth: Gently dab the treated area with a clean, damp cloth every 30 minutes for the first 3 hours after the procedure. This helps remove any excess lymph or blood and keeps the area clean.

2. Gentle Cleansing: Starting from the day after the procedure, wash your eyelids morning and night using a gentle cleanser such as Cetaphil or CeraVe. Apply a small amount of cleanser on your fingertips and gently cleanse the area, being careful not to scrub or rub vigorously.

3. Cream Application: After washing your eyelids, apply a tiny amount of the recommended cream to the treated area. Use approximately half the size of a grain of rice. Gently massage the cream into the skin, ensuring it is evenly distributed.

4. Repeat for 7-10 Days: Follow this gentle cleansing, and cream application routine for 7-10 days. Consistency is key during this healing period to ensure the best results.

5. Do not pull off any scabs from the area, let it flake off naturally. Pulling off will pull pigment out from the skin.

6. Avoid makeup, lotions, and sun exposure: Refrain from using makeup, lotions, or any other products on your eyelids or lashes for at least 7 days. This includes avoiding direct sun exposure, saunas, steam rooms, and excessive sweating, as these factors can interfere with the healing process and affect color retention.

Following these guidelines diligently will promote proper healing, minimize the risk of infection, and help your eyeliner look its best for an extended period.

SCALP MICROPIGMENTATION

Scalp Micropigmentation Precare

1. Refrain from direct sun exposure to the scalp for a minimum of two weeks preceding your scheduled procedure.

2. Cease the use of hair growth products or topical medications on the scalp at least two weeks before the appointed date.

3. Avoid alcohol consumption 24 hours before your procedure, and refrain from using any blood-thinning medications unless prescribed by your doctor.

Day-of-Procedure Instructions:

1. Ensure your scalp is thoroughly washed and free of any products on the day of your appointment.

2. If shaving is required before the procedure, perform it in the morning using the shortest setting on the shaver. (Note: Density work may not necessitate shaving.)

Scalp Micropigmentation Aftercare

Ensure optimal aftercare by prioritizing cleanliness and dryness. Gently rinse your scalp daily with warm or cool water, patting it dry afterward. Steer clear of shampoos, and chemicals, submerging your head, excessive sweating, surface rubbing and scrubbing for 7 days after your procedure. Your scalp may become itchy so you can lightly tap your scalp to relieve some of the itching. After 7 days you may continue using gentle shampoo and products as well as shaving.
